Meet the Coltrain Team
Our Story
Gautam is a cardiologist in Wenatchee, Washington. Sanjay is a cardiothoracic surgeon in Wichita, Kansas. Best friends since medical school, we have been obsessed with the dated technology used by HCPs to communicate and connect, driven by pagers, fax machines, and clunky EMRs.
As physicians in fragmented, semi-rural healthcare systems, we found ourselves increasingly frustrated and on an island, unable to effectively communicate with our colleagues. After we both had bad outcomes directly attributable to delays in communication, we invested our own time and money to solve the problem.
In 2020, after 18 months of development, Coltrain was created. It was our best attempt, within our limited budget and technical expertise, to begin fixing this problem with a mobile tool designed to optimize the way we, as HCPs, think and work.
Innovative and effective
Coltrain embodies the idea that when clinicians effectively communicate, with modern digital tools, everyone wins. From the day we launched, Coltrain has had a positive impact on countless patient lives.
For us, this is only the beginning
We are going directly to HCPs with tools that make our lives better, connect us seamlessly with colleagues, and empower us to be better clinicians.
